Man fined for labelling woman a witch

Ousupeng Maeba, 43, who hails from Mahetlwe village, was dragged before the Old Naledi Customary Court president Charles Kooitsewe yesterday for allegedly accusing 78-year-old Monosi Moabi of witchcraft.

The two reportedly had a heated argument on July 15, 2014, which culminated in Maebe brandishing Moabi a witch who had killed their neighbour’s child.

In his defense, Maeba blamed alcohol for his conduct and claimed to have little recollection of what transpired after his drinking spree on the day.
