Five Khawa men face illegal hunting charges

TSABONG: Five men from Khawa recently appeared before the Tsabong Magistrate Court to answer charges of illegal hunting of a lion and unlawful possession of arms.

Motsogedi Sephiri Velskoen, Piet Morongwa Velskoen, Hans Kassie, Lucas Bok and Jan Matthys are accused of hunting a partially protected game animal in 2012.

They are said to have committed the offence in a controlled hunting area in the Kgalagadi where they unlawfully hunted and killed a lion.
