His resignation comes at a time when the club had just reached a transformation milestone from the society to a company. Mothulatshipi, who became the chairperson last year, was instrumental in leading the transformation drive.

Although his resignation has come a shock to some of the supporters, reports have been making rounds in the last couple of months about the international wars between some members of the executive committee.

In his resignation letter, Mothulatship has since confirmed that the environment at the club is currently tumultuous and volatile and has since decided that he can no longer stay. “My decision has been propelled by the turbulent atmosphere perpetuated by the branch structures and some members of the executive committee.

Two games prior to the conclusion of the 2021/2022 season, the club was rendered ungovernable by reports peddled and instigated from the branch domain. What started off as differing opinions escalated and disintegrated into insubordination within the executive committee under the influence of some branch leadership and later deteriorated into attacking my person and undermining my authority,” Mothulatshipi said in his resignation letter.

He said the appointment of support stuff with the intent to close gaps within the operational structures created more problems. “Their skimpy stay proved to be venomous to the organisation. Their footprints are ruefully synonymous to miniature display of knowledge and unsatisfactory delivery on operational matters leading to state of complete paralysis especially on the financial audit,” he said. Mothulatshipi went on to state that the play-off defeat to Eleven Angels in Francistown was in part due to disruptions within the players’ camp. He said some committee members urged and encouraged players not to partake in the match.

He said even after the failure to gain promotion, he waited with the hope that the bickering would subside only to find that it is continuing. “I find it hard to represent the supporters through their 10% stake in Mochudi Centre Chiefs (Pty) Ltd whereas the branch structures have usurped my mandate. I therefore await advice from the branch structures leadership on whom to hand over the 10% shares to as I cannot continue to be an intermediary and representative of people who no longer want to work with me,” he said.
