Free wills for 100 BOSETU members

This announcement was made on Thursday during an event marking the launch of Mphusu Attorneys’ corporate social investment (CSI). Winston Radikolo, the educators’ union president, expressed gratitude for the partnership with the esteemed law firm.

While acknowledging the financial challenges BOSETU faces as an organisation still establishing itself wealth, Radikolo highlighted the union's commitment to enhancing member welfare through ambitious strategies. He noted, “We hope it will add value to our members' lives. Being poor, we're grateful for what you bring.” Kutlo Mphusu, Lead Counsel at Mphusu Attorneys, introduced the Legacy Guard initiative as part of their CSI efforts.

Through this endeavour to firm aims to empower Batswana by providing knowledge and assistance in wills and estate planning. Mphusu explained that the decision to collaborate with BOSETU was based on shared values centred on giving back and positively impacting lives. While the law firm has previously engaged in community service, this marks its first major initiative of this nature, with a commitment to its continuation. Mphusu also revealed the additional support garnered from six female lawyers in a WhatsApp group named ‘Ladies in Law’.

“When they heard about the initiative, they immediately saw its importance and jumped at the chance to be involved, so we might end up assisting more than the stipulated 100,” she said. For BOSETU members aged 60 and above to avail of this opportunity, they are required to contact the provided numbers via phone call, WhatsApp, or SMS. Sharing personal details such as full names, ID numbers, contact information, and location will qualify them for this invaluable service. This collaboration between BOSETU and Mphusu Attorneys represents a promising step toward supporting members’ futures and solidifying a stronger sense of community well-being.
