The duo will take revellers down memory lane with their classical kwaito hits when they perform during the Legends in Concert event also at 'Ya Ma 74' to be held on Friday at Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino. Mafokate released his debut album, Windy Windy, which included the hit 'Amagents Ayaphanda' in 1994. He became known as the 'King of Kwaito' with many hit singles such as Oyi Oyi, Mnike, Twalatza, Zombo, Poppe Dans, Seven Phezulu and Sika Lekhekhe. On the other hand, Sea Bee’s debut album, I wonder Why, was a hit in the earliest days of Kwaito. The album was a house-infused soundtrack. After his hit album that had songs such as Home Boy, I Wonder Why and Thiba, Sea Bee disappeared off the radar. The duo is expected to remind ma74 of their youthful days when kwaito was one of the most loved genres in the music industry.

When addressing the media about the show on Tuesday, the event coordinator, Lecco Kenosi, said the last time they brought Mafokate in the country was when they also brought Malaika at Molapo Crossing a few years back. He explained that the event was fully packed. He also encouraged kwaito music fanatics to come buy tickets early and in numbers. He also encouraged revellers to also book accommodation at Avani hotel saying those who will be sleeping there will get an opportunity to have breakfast with Mafokate in the morning before he leaves for SA. Furthermore, he pointed out that the Friday event will be their 15th show.

He said since inception, their shows have always succeeded where almost all of their shows were sold out. For her part, the event manager, Zenzel Hirschfeld, said the event was meant for people who understood kwaito music. She added that the decision to host the event came after realising that events did not cater for the older generation but rather the youth. She said the event gave them an opportunity to forget life problems and enjoy music from their favourite music legends. She added that the venue will be safe as they will be very tight security. She also said since the inception of the Legends in Concert events, they never got reports of theft. Hirschfeld also indicated that the venue is ideal as it allowed the event to go on despite weather situations like rains and storms. She added that local talents like DJ Ngwazi, DJ Geespeezy, DJ Touch, DJ Obza and others would be treating the audience with endless music tunes.
