Lobatse Beef Festival Back

Seboni explained that the first day will be for commercial and an exhibition of products by different stalls  which will be showcasing their beef related designs.

“The stalls are available at the moment and people who are interested can contact me. These are mainly for people who sell cattle and life stock food, mainly beef allied products,” he said. He further said that they have also invited people in the wine industry. He said the people would be in a position to demonstrate to people which wine goes along with which meat. Seboni added that they have also included hospitality tents that will be available for hire.

“These will be tents where cooperate companies will invite their clients or customers for relaxation while enjoying the beef. This initiative is mainly to cater for cooperations that are not related to beef industry where they can invite their clients and do business there,” he said. The evening will be something to look forward to as Seboni says there will be live entertainment at its best. “Various artists will take to stage and entertain people. So on Saturday it will be kwaito, hip pop and soul artists performing while Sunday will be all about jazz music and local big jazz artists will be performing.”  He said on Sunday, the attendees would enjoy types of beef cooking. “There will be braai and traditional meat food that include Seswaa, Ditlhako, Tlhogo and Sunday will be all about Jazz sessions and good traditional food,” he said.

Seboni further added that unlike last year where meat was given every time, this year there will be a time frame where people will be given meat and that will be around lunchtime.  Seboni also mentioned that the festival is meant to promote and position Lobatse as a vibrant town with the necessary amenities necessary for business and economic growth.  He said the festival is also expected to showcase Lobatse as a major international player in the beef industry.

“Ever since the introduction of this festival the response we have been getting has been phenomenal. People appreciate what we do and the support has been great and as a result we have also been talking to the media in South Africa and they seem keen to come on board,” he said.
