BBS sponsors Zeus, Kearoma

Kearoma is a nominee in the Best Female Southern Africa category while Zeus has received two nominations for Best Male Southern African and Best Rap Act. Kearoma has been nominated alongside Lira (South Africa), Toya De Lazy (South Africa), Judy (Zambia), Zahara (South Africa), Lizha James (Mozambique).
In the Best Male Southern Africa Zeus is competing with some of Africa’s finest, namely AKA (South Africa), Donald (South Africa), Slap Dee (Zambia), Khuli Chana (South Africa), Stunner (Zimbabwe) and Tha Dogg (Namibia). In the Best Rap Act, Zeus is nominated alongside Sarkodi (Ghana), AKA (South Africa), Olamide (Nigeria), Phyno (Nigeria), Octopizzo (Kenya), and M.anifest (Ghana).
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on July 26, 2014 at the Eisemann Centre in Richardson, Texas, USA.
AFRIMMA caters for all music genres including but not limited to Afrobeats, Assiko, Bongo, Decale, Funana, Genge, Highlife, Kwaito, Lingala and Soukous. The awards create a platform for and promote the diversity of African music.
BBS Head of Marketing and Communications, Sipho Showa, urged other corporates to support local artists in a meaningful way instead of regularly investing heavily in foreign performers.
“BBS also recognises that Zeus and Kearoma are contributing to the strengthening of ‘Brand Botswana’ internationally because of the recognition they continue to receive for their sterling work,” Showa said in a statement.
