Two housemates bite the dust

The two Hotshots failed to garner enough votes to remain in the game.

Zambia’s Resa was the first to be evicted from the house. She was followed by Mozambique’s Mira, who was a bit of a flirt in the house, having already kissed two guys, within the short period of time in the house.  Mira seemed cozy with Namibia’s Luis in the beginning, but somehow her lips found their way to South Africa’s Nhlanhla.  The two locked lips in a passionate kiss, witnessed by Botswana’s Sheillah and Luis.  Both housemates, who were evicted on the night, seemed to have taken the eviction rather well, with Mira claiming that she was already missing home anyways.

Resa said she was prepared for any outcome, and was fine with being evicted.  The unfortunate thing about this particular eviction is that all housemates but one were up for possible eviction.   Out of the 26 housemates, 25 were up for possible eviction except for the week’s head of house, Tanzania’s Laveda, who won after playing the saxophone exceptionally well.

This gave participating countries a bit of a challenge as each of their housemates’ head was on the chopping board, except for Tanzania. The other 11 countries had to vote for one housemate and sacrifice the other, and Botswana’s vote went to Goitse.   Lady luck, however, was on Sheillah’s side, as her percentage vote must have earned her a stay in the Hotshots game.

Had the situation been different, Resa would possibly have gotten a bit of support from Botswana, as she attended St Joseph’s College and she speaks fluent Setswana.  Unfortunately for her, every country for now was looking out for their fellow countrymen and -women. Macky2 received two votes, from his home country Zambia and the Rest of Africa.  Arthur, Butterphly, Esther, Goitse, Idris, M’am Bea, Nhlanhla, Permithias, Sabina, Sipe, Tayo and Trezagah received one vote each, while the remaining 12 housemates received zero country votes, which means that the tiebreaker rule came into effect.

As the Big Brother game is always full of surprises, Sunday after the live eviction show, which took place at 8:00 am, was no different.  The remaining housemates were called into the diary room one-by-one to make their nominations, which was unprecedented.  Previously nominations were done on Mondays.  The current Biggie seems to have a few changes.  Topping the nomination list are Tayo from Nigeria, Frankie from Rwanda, and JJ from Zimbabwe.  Some of the reasons given for nominations were quite interesting with South Africa’s Samantha, nominating Rwanda’s Arthur and Frankie.  She said she would prefer to nominate people from one country to avoid annoying too many countries.   Tayo on the other had seems to have rubbed the housemates the wrong way as their reasons for nominating him are similar.   They were painting him as an egocentric person, who only listens to the sound of his voice. Participating countries are Botswana, South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
