Valentine�s Day comedy special at Little Theatre

Comedy lovers will be happy to know that The Other Guys will host a comedy show on 14 February at the National Museum Little Theatre. The show will feature some of the best in comedy circles namely; Charles Manase, Tulani Tau, and Umbambi Ndiwenyu popularly known as Bambino. The show themed ‘Where Is My Valentine’ plans to have comedians poke fun at both singles and couples over relationship matters. The Other Guys administrative director, Lebogang Disele, said the show is meant to keep people company on the day, regardless of their relationship status.
She said it is common knowledge that some people on this particular day put themselves under immense pressure to do something romantic. This has led to those who are not in relationships to foster a quick one, just so that they too can be on a Valentine’s date.
She further explained that on this day, people usually have expectations, some of which might not be realistic because their significant other does not subscribe to the notion of showing love on one particular day.
She said the show would cater for individuals with different relationship statuses.
“There are those guys who love their women, but simply don’t buy into the Valentine thing because they believe they should show their significant other love on a daily basis. The show will most definitely give them something to laugh about,” she said. She said the comedians would touch on a variety of issues and situations affecting couples and single individuals.
She said the show in a way is meant to show singles that Valentine’s Day should not put them under pressure, as they can just do their thing on the day and have fun without stressing too much about getting a date.
While many have associated Valentine’s Day with romantic relationships only, the day actually can be celebrated with loved ones, be it friends, family, husbands, or boyfriends.
Some individuals usually feel pressured to get a date, or present on the day, and the expectation is usually for the gift to be from a significant other or a potential.
The comedy show, however, promises to cater for individuals with varying perceptions on Valentine’s Day.
