Leading citizen ict company appoints new CEO

Her movie star looks once earned her a movie role in Botswana’s first ever Hollywood production, the No.1 Lady’s Detective Agency movie, otherwise known as Mmaramotswe. She still remembers vividly how she spent days with the likes of Idris Elba and Jill Scott in Gaborone during the filming of the movie where she was one of the few extras to be given a speaking role.
Born and bred in Gaborone, Tshiamo’s story of success appears to have shaped up like a movie. It has been a dream career in the ICT industry as she saw herself climbing up the ladder to become one of the a few leading women in ICT,
“I am excited to lead one of the few Enterprise ICT companies in Botswana.”Tshiamo says, They deal with offerings such as managed services, enterprise solutions, ICT consultancy, core infrastructure and productivity services ,IT strategy and project management services, to name a few.
“ We are highly revolutionised and believe in harnessing and empowering young people to be the best in developing solutions and innovative applications and have had success with our application development team winning numerous awards both locally and regionally .
Tshiamo wants to turn her company into an exporter of ICT services. She believes her company employs only the best in the market. From their development program that spots talent at University level, nurturing it through their internship program, they have so far acquired quite a number of emerging IT graduates, employing all their interns who successfully complete their graduate trainee program.
“ We strive to the best in the market and build niche competences were we are market leaders,She says they are already market leaders with three Gold Microsoft and one silver competencies. These are awarded based on number of trained and certified professionals and client references .
Moonstone currently holds Gold Microsoft competencies in Volume Licensing, Server Platform, Management & Virtualisation and Collaboration & Content. “This demonstrates a “best-in-class” ability and commitment to meet our customers’ evolving needs in today’s dynamic business environment”, she says proudly.

Tshiamo’s Moonstone headquarters is located at one of the double story buildings atop the Masa Centre.
It is an elegant space that houses a team of 30 ICT experts, some with over ten years with the company founded by tech entrepreneur Monametsi Kalayamotho.
Today Tshiamo’s company can be described as the heartbeat of the public sector, as over the years the company, thanks to its innovative ways, has transformed itself to be the number one choice in ICT services as they forged partnerships with international partners, among others.
Tshiamo prides herself in having been there from the early days of the company as she saw through both challenging and exciting times forging international networks with ICT partnerships that helped establish her company to be leadership quadrant in industry. For Tshiamo it was perhaps her unmatched sales and marketing talent that worked magic both for her and the company she joined fresh from school.
As a marketing executive she was not only marketing her company profiles to potential clients but says she would even prepare proposals for multi-million Pula projects memorable amongst them, the e-passport tender. “ I’m still involved in ensuring that we deliver the best proposals and projects out there”.To date her company continues to do the maintenance and service contract for the passport system in the country.
She also raves about transformation project, the BURS’s e-filling system that would upon completion see taxpayers being able to register and file their taxes online. Other major projects associated with Tshiamo’s company include Bofinet, Botswana Post’s counter automation project, as well as a major project involving government private cloud among others.
Tshiamo says her company is in the process of launching a national ICT entrepreneurship program that would see young ICT in various corners of the country being helped to become successful entrepreneurs.
