The two young men told Showbiz that their product, which goes by the name Naomii Music would be the largest online music library in Botswana. The online music library will officially launch on August 31. The duo explained that they have already signed agreements with a number of local musicians from different genres, including ATI, Scar, Lizibo and Beng Gae artists just to mention a few. The two said they felt that it was high time that the local music is archived to give fans easy access, both locally and internationally. A number of local musicians still don’t have the capacity to sell their music outside the country and the online service would bridge that gap, they said.
Masasa and Gosalamang explained that fans will have a choice to subscribe monthly and enjoy unlimited access to a variety of music genres from different musicians. The newly constructed website gives subscribers different plans which include full experience, unlimited music, catalogued libraries, Naomi shuffle, and personalised music. Monthly subscription fee for different plans is P49.99.
Those who do not want to subscribe have an option to buy music of their choice.
The two young men said they are aware that some locals are not comfortable with internet transactions, and as such they have made an allowance for customers to use bank service like pay-to-cell, which will allow them to buy coupons. The coupons can be used to subscribe or purchase music. Naomii Music on their website, which can be accessed at www.naomiimusic.com, specified that they accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. The two young men run a company called Masasa Media House, which provides a variety of services including web development, bulk sms services and payroll system, amongst others.
