Legendary musos to dazzle at Ba Isago

Lesire Morotsi and Lesedi Mpabanga will on May 25, 2019 host The Legends Live Tour at the Ba Isago Convention Centre to be headlined by South African legends.
During a press brief recently, Morotsi, who is the co-founder of the project said the vision is to create employment, empower the youth and give them the opportunity and the necessary exposure to work with legends.
“Our main aim in this case is to create awareness for the blind and partially sighted, for people to get to know that they also need our help in one way or the other,” Morotsi explained. After getting to know about the initiative, the legendary Socca Moruakgomo pledged to perform for free in order to give and contribute towards the campaign. Pop and R&B singer Amantle Brown crooned that she was not only honoured to be sharing the stage with legends, but is also proud that she is giving to the community.
Representative from the Botswana Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted, Omphemetse Ramabaka said research shows that there are about 28,000 people in Botswana that are visually impaired and are in need of the mobility cane.
He also said that they are glad for the recognition they are being given seeing that it is not everyone who affords the mobility stick.
“I commend the organisers of this initiative given that in society we live in, we mostly see donations of crushes and wheelchairs on a daily basis, but we see less of donations being made to us,” he said.
At the press briefing, assistant Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Phillip Makgalemele said that he would encourage his ministry to pledge and buy the mobility canes.
“Twenty-eight thousand is a reachable number, if we stand together and pledge towards buying these mobility canes it is possible. It is heart-warming to see the youth giving out to the community,” he highlighted.
Speaking to Arts & Culture one of the organisers of the show, Daisy Mmama Mhlanga-Fichani said that the first ever Legends Live Tour has adopted the Botswana Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted, with the main aim of donating white canes to them that cost P600 each and will help with mobility.
“There’s a Setswana saying that letlhaku lele ncha le agelelwa mo go le legologolo, meaning that the new generation shall grow and learn from the old, hence we have Amantle Brown on board,” Mhlanga-Fichani mentioned.
Tickets are available at Riverwalk Webtickets, Spar outlet, Pick N Pay Sebele and Maitisong. Early bird tickets will go for P250, while standard tickets go for P350, VIP tickets for P500 and lastly the VVIP that incorporates the cuisine delight will go for P1,000.
