According to No2 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Paul Oketsang said that they have arrested the 29-year-old man in connection to the unlawful wounding of the younger man. He said that the suspect was arrested after he stabbed a 23-year-old man thrice in the back and once in the mouth with a screwdriver.
“The two unemployed males were drinking at a local depot and the suspect started accusing the 23-year-old of snatching his girlfriend. The duo then exchanged words followed by blows.
The 29-year-old then reached for a screwdriver and stabbed the victim,” he added. Oketsang indicated that the 23-year-old man was then rushed to Sekgoma Memorial Hospital where he is currently recuperating. “The victim is in stable condition at the moment whereas the 29-year-old man is in police custody,” he said. Oketsang indicated that the suspect is due to appear before court today (Monday).
