Nshakazhogwe man wanted for causing death

FRANCISTOWN: Letlhakane police are looking for Pitlagano Gopolang from Nshakazhogwe village, who is alleged to have caused the death of a 58-year-old woman in a hit-and-run incident.

According to Letlhakane Police Station commander, Superintendent Michael Maphephu, the suspected hit-and-run offender ran over a woman and continued driving.

Although they have identified the suspect, he is still at large. Maphephu revealed the suspect has been listed on the Botswana Police Service's (BPS) official Facebook page.

"If anyone knows of the whereabouts of Gopolang, they should reach out to us on 2978253 or 999 or contact the nearest police station," said the Letlhakane station head. Maphephu stated that a passer-by who witnessed the accident reported the incident. They were able to identify the deceased, who was taken to Letlhakane Primary Hospital and certified dead upon arrival.

He emphasised that the police are making every effort to warn motorists about the risks associated with irresponsible driving. He appealed to motorists to drive slowly and attentively in the village to prevent tragic collisions.
