Frank de Painter’s art catalogue now available

He revealed that Unorthodox Collection consists of 24 original paintings. He said the printed copies will be available very soon. “Unorthodox Collection it’s my fifth official collection. Art Of Mona Dilo, is my first collection where I just took my old artworks created over my teenage years, and presented it as my inaugural collection, The Art of Painting was my second project which was also accompanied by my first ever solo exhibition.
This Is A.R.T collection project supplemented my second solo exhibition titled followed this; “This Is A.R.T Exhibition 2014” was hosted at the Alliance Française de Gaborone. The fourth one was titled SMART Collection and now Unorthodox Collection makes my fifth collection,” he highlighted.
Frank de Painter further added that his plan was to make an exhibition this year but due to the pandemic challenges, he had to come up with an alternative to take his body of work to art lovers and potential clients.
“Through the help of friends and colleagues in the arts, we saw an opening in the digital space. That’s when I decided to create this e-art catalogue and it has been working wonders so far,” he further indicated. Frank de Painter thanked everyone who has been supportive through this journey.
He recalled that a few years ago when he started doing commercial art, a lot of Batswana had no idea what art was, but now he has realised that a lot has changed over the years. “Arts & Design used to be a hobby to most, now it’s a source of income for many visual artists.
I urge Batswana to keep supporting local visual artists because art is all we know. I took time putting together this project. I officially released it on August 20, 2021; I hope it edifies art lovers,” he said. Frank de Painter said since they do not have a lot of proper galleries in Botswana where artists can exhibit their artworks more professionally, he hoped the newly established National Arts Council will address their problems.
