Power is vapour, it is perennial

A lot of events would be on our palms hence whatever we desire, we can solicit since authority is within out jurisdiction. Power is the possession of controlling authority or influence. Power is only limited to a certain span of time.

You cannot be powerful forever, at one point we ought to lose it, whether we want or not. The universe distributes power according to whom grace has allocated and grace gives the person in power the confidence to lead whatever the chosen pack provides. Power is a privilege and we all deserve to earn it equally but unfortunately we cannot have it all at the same time. There has to be leaders and followers and power distinguishes the latter two.

It is imperative to comprehend that power is seasonal thus one gets to appreciate and mind how it is distributed within the set- up. Some leaders share it fairly whilst others do not.

The leaders distribute power evenly while bosses abuse it. A leader is first inducted by life events to learn to apply the power they are given whereas bosses land in power without any pre- conditioning to the privilege. It just happens haphazardly.

They are more mean than the leaders, who appear meek at all seasons. One day, Samuel was instructed to go anoint the new king of Israel; David. The existing king; Saul, heard that the Lord has ordained the new king and the news provoked him negatively. He knew that his reign on the throne was over and none of his off- springs would inherit the kingdom. Saul tormented David and during his quest to kill David, he slumbered and David sneaked to cut the cloth of Saul’ garment.

This clearly shows that even though we possess great amounts of power, we all have that weak spot to lose it. Losing power is the most easiest thing to experience since it all depends on our interdependence. A smart and intelligent young man, Tael, once joined the biggest law firm in the country and his smoothness in the game intimidated his principal, whom eventually could not resist to display his hatred and jealousy.

The Manager, John, made it his commission to always sabotage Tael on every assignment he is tasked with so that Tael does not progress in his career. Tael lived a frustrating and excruciating lifestyle especially that he did not know the big offence he committed towards his boss. One day, Tael was considering to quit his job because he could not bear the working conditions he operated under, while in the office’ bathroom, he heard a great praise from the office hall. Everyone was shouting and clapping hands.

When he reached the hall, his friend, Matt, dashed to him with the tightest hug ever, still in confusion, Matt whispered; “John is fired”. Tael had written his resignation letter and he was to hand it over to the Human Resources department after returning from the bathroom. He put his hand in the pocket to reach the letter and started shredding it from his pocket.

The drive to quit was no more. John’s power were no more. He got promoted into John’s position and he became a good leader. Everyone thrived under his stewardship. We ought to be careful with how we use our power when we have it. If you abuse it, the fruits it would bear for you are sour and you will be obligated to eat them without an option. But if you are meek with it, it will attract favours that endure forever for you would have tailored a legacy.
