Former Players Honor Hunda

The ex-players, who played under Hunda including Daniel ‘Chicco’ Nare, have decided to honour him while also raising money to assist the coach travel back to his home country.
The former Police XI, BMC, Uniao Flamengo Santos gaffer is said to be struggling financially due to unemployment. His situation like many other old coaches has been made difficult by the current Club Licensing regulations, which require certain qualifications from coaches.
Hunda, who successfully managed to mold some of the respected former players, currently does not have the right coaching qualifications to lead a Premier League side.
“We have decided to honour and celebrate this man while he is still alive. We have invited many dignitaries who have worked with him who include former players and former club chairpersons. Amongst those who will deliver a speech at the Friday event is the former Police Commissioner, Thebeyame Tsimako who brought Hunda into the country many years ago while he was still Police XI chairperson,” current Morupule Wanderers coach, Nare told Sport Monitor yesterday.
He said about 40 former players who played under Hunda including Marshlow Motlogelwa and Sthanda Mogwadi share common ground in the initiative.
He also said they are also raising funds to help the former gaffer financially and eventually assist him return to his homeland, Mashonaland where he is expected to become a chief.
Besides Tsimako, Reginald Kebapetse who worked with Hunda at BMC will also be amongst the speakers together Mike Molefe. Molefe was Santos chairperson when Hunda led his side in the CAF Confederations Cup years ago.
