The Money Machine travelled to Jwaneng on Saturday in activated beast mode before they crashed fellow title contenders, Jwaneng Galaxy 5-1. They opened a six points gap at the top of the league table with an impressive goal difference of 25. Lebogang Ditsele opened the score against his former side before Kekaetswe Moloi, Mpho Kgaswane, Misani Thupa and Omphile Ramoagi also registered their names on the sheet. Galaxy’s only goal came through attacking midfielder, Gilbert Baruti.
GU have now collected 33 points, six more than second and third placed Sua Flamingoes and Township Rollers respectively. GU, however, have played 12 matches while Flamingoes and Rollers played 14 and 13 matches respectively. The Reds have now registered victories against Orapa United, Rollers and Galaxy, all of which were seen as potential threats to stop GU’s winning streak. Galaxy are now sitting at position nine with 16 points. Flamingoes are also proving doubters wrong in their first ever-Premier League season. The Flam Boys compounded Notwane’s woes on Saturday, registering their eighth win of the season from 14 matches.
The combination Zimbabwean duo, Mcebisi Moyo and Tendai Nyumasi, once again worked wonders and produced three goals. Moyo bagged a brace while Nyumasi scored the third from a penalty spot. Rollers also registered their second successive win under new coach, Romain Folz when they ripped Gilport Lions apart at the Royal Aria Stadium. They have now scored seven goals in two matches. At the bottom, Mahalapye Railways Highlanders are still chasing their first Premier League win this season after 13 matches.
They have only collected three points so far from three draws and have lost 10 games, conceding a whooping 30 goals in the process. On Saturday they lost 2-1 to Security Systems and remained rooted at the bottom of the log standings. Mogoditshane Fighters are second from the bottom with five points following their 3-1 loss to Extension Gunners on Saturday.
