The 1-0 win for the log leaders against URI Black Forest saw them open a two-point gap at the summit with the league going into the eighth week this weekend. From the first week, the league has been recording interesting results with Matebele FC taking an early lead at the top before they were toppled by Tlokweng United for a couple of weeks.

Former Premier League side, Black Forest used its experience and gained momentum before they appeared to make the top position theirs. However, they got their unpleasant surprise at home against Holy Ghost, in the process relinquishing the position to the latter. This Sunday, the log leaders will be at home to Matebele in what is expected to be an interesting encounter. Matebele are currently sitting at position four with 12 points, four behind their weekend’s opponents.

The match comes a few days after Matebele announced a partnership with Bitvault Africa, a company that specialises in graphic design, custom email hosting as well as social media marketing. The company is expected to boost the image of the club by drafting social media content including coaches, players’ profiles as well as club news. On the same date, Broadhurst United will host Matebejana at the SSG ground. United are just coming out of a famous 1-0 victory over Mochudi Centre Chiefs last weekend while Matebejana also registered an important 2-0 win over Tlokweng United.

Only three points separate the two sides with Broadhurst United sitting at position three with 14 points while Matebejana are sixth. On Saturday, Magosi will want to avoid a third away straight loss when they face Mochudi Rovers in a Kgatleng derby at Mochudi Rovers ground. Both sides have not been getting the results they had hoped for before the season started. They are both tied on nine points with Rovers sitting in position seven because of a superior goal difference while Chiefs are eighth. The two will hope to pull an impressive crowd not only because of the rivalry but also because of the proximity to both sets of supporters.

Black Forest and Tlokweng United are also eyeing victories as they face two struggling sides, Motaung Young Fighters and Taung Young Strikers who are yet to register victories this season. In the Debswana First Division North, Nico United look set to run away from the rest of the pack after opening a six-point gap at the top.

They are yet to lose a match this season and have only registered one draw, scoring 17 goals in the process. They take on Maun Terrors tomorrow afternoon at the Sam Sono Stadium oozing with confidence after beating Chadibe FC away from home last weekend. Second-placed Peace Makers travel to Serowe for a date with former Premier League side, Green Lovers. TAFIC also travel to Serowe on Sunday to face Miscellaneous with the former sitting dangerously on position 11 with six points from seven matches while Miscellaneous are sixth with eight points. All the matches kick-off at 4pm.
