With Phendula featuring South African vocalist, Juizee, DJ KSB managed to release a hit single during a time when the pandemic was wreaking havoc in 2020 and he could not capitalise fully because the entertainment was still shut as a result of COVID-19. Phendula went on to win Best Dance award at the reinvigorated BOMU awards last year.
Now post the lockdowns and the harder part of the pandemic, DJ KSB has decided to release First Quarter to show people that Phendula’s success was just a beginning. This is DJ KSB’s first ever EP and he titled it “The First Quarter” because he believes it is the first quarter of greater things coming his way.
Currently, DJ KSB is pushing the lead single called Nyimele featuring Nadia from Limpopo in South Africa and also signed by Primetainment.
“Nyimele song simply is about how much God conquers the challenges we encounter daily. It’s an Amapiano dance sound with the Afro and Gospel feel which gives it a mood uplifting genre tag. The First Quarter EP is released under Jozi Entertainment, which is currently the number one indie record label in South Africa and I can say they never disappoint with pushing my work since Phendula that got the best airplay and a BOMU dance award,” DJ KSB told Showtime in an interview.
The EP has four Songs namely Ndize featuring King Sdudla, Mwari feauturing NiGel Shoko, Queen Blue and DJ Guyvos, Uthando featuring Mr Chozen as well as lead single Nyimele.
DJ KSB also revealed that the EP featured two Batswana artistes, two Zimbabweans and two South African artistes. “I consider it international. Since the day of release of the lead single Nyimele, I received a massive feedback via TikTok challenges with over 1k videos and 400k views. So I am really proud of the love and feedback people are giving my project and work,” he further said. DJ KSB disclosed that he will be shooting the music video for lead song next week with Botswana’s export to SA and talented videographer Jack Bohloko.
