Cresta Riley's gears up for Letlhafula

While Ngamiland area is known for its tourism attraction, Cresta Riley’s has come up with an event that has over the years added to the vibrancy and diversity of the social and leisure offerings in the area to compliment the tourism sector.

Area sales and marketing manager at Cresta Riley's, Wame Masike told Showtime that the event is meant to immerse tourists with traditional Setswana cuisine not just wildlife, so that they experience Botswana culture, dance and attire.

'As you know, May is a peak period for tourism with the arrival of international tourists on our shores. So the objective is to immense the tourists with Setswana cuisine and have them experience the culture, dance and local attire. The games include Koi, Morabaraba, Mhele and Dibeke,' said Masike.

The event, which will be held under the theme, “Ngwao Letshwao”, has brought some of the best in the entertainment to serenade attendants. Maun native, who is also one of the pioneers of the recording industry in the country, Stika Sola as well as Dikhwaere star singer Dr Vom have been lined up to light up the day.

The two are legends on their own and the type of music they sing will surely blend well with Letlhafula. Dr Vom has been a constant feature in cultural events over the years, captivating attendants with his age defying hit, Thobane. There will also be performances from Hambukushu and Herero traditional troupes as well Marimba. The event is also expected to give cultural enthusiasts an opportunity to have fun, mingle and relax from their every day busy schedules. Masike added that there will also be a kids’ corner, where children will have fun on the jumping castle while they also get an opportunity to do face paintings.
