Officer commanding, senior superintendent Theriso Thatayotlhe confirmed the incident, stating that looking at the state of his body the deceased might have lost his life a day or so before discovery. “His house was intact, no break-in.
The door and windows were still closed and locked hence we do not suspect any foul play. I am pleading with members of the public to always check in on each other, especially when living in the same neighbourhood and family to consider checking on each other even by phone,” he said.
Thatayotlhe said it is of great concern that some people share apartments but cannot greet each other. He pleaded with members of the public to build relationships, form neighbourhood watch groups, and help the police to eliminate crime. “Building relationships with people you living with reduces the risk of becoming a victim of a crime. It also helps to identify and report suspicious activities and prevent crime from occurring in the neighbourhood,” Thatayotlhe said.
