The event, which was organised by renowned local spinner, Saxton ‘The General’ Leepile was held at KC 12 Park in Mmamashia. It was thrills galore as spinners and drifters impressed the large crowd that graced the event.
It really turned out to be a picturesque moment as drifters and spinners battled it out to show their class and give the crowd endless entertainment. While all participants were impressed with their performances, it was Justin and Renzo who left many people stunned with their suicidal stunts.
Renzo’s tricks were just perfect and absolutely flawless.
He performed what is known as ‘kitchen’ with ease and confidence, much to the amusement of the crowd. Every time he stepped in on the field, the crowd knew that they were in for good treat. After doing the kitchen at all different holes, then he would immediately shred the tyres in a loud banging sound, much to the cheer of his fans. It was really a spectacle.
Cape Town boys Mano, Oom Loeks, and Yusuf did not want to be left behind. They were also impressive on the day with their stunts. This time, the show organisers had spiced things up with the presence of professional spinners Samantha O’Connor and Juan Stemmet.
While their slides and tricks were mouthwatering, it was their cars that were just popular with the crowd. While the Cape Town boys took the shine, the local spinners were not far off the pace. They also flashed their brilliance and showed they also have something to offer.
Names such as King Joe, Ginimbi aka Rabana, Sheriff, Villa with his Altezza car, Ghetto Child and JoeBkesem are some of the names who mesmerised from the local front. Following this successful event, an ecstatic Leepile said things turned exactly the way he had hoped for.
He said although he funded the show from his own pocket after being turned away by companies, he had approached for sponsors, he was happy that he gave Batswana a show to remember. “Sponsors were not forthcoming.
They only wanted to come in at the last minute. I funded this event from my own pocket but I’m happy with how things turned out. It was great and a day to remember. He said this would give him a push to stage even a better show next time.
