Sesinyi previously served on the committee as an additional member.

Ahead of the 2020 BFA elective congress, Sesinyi, who was previously in the then called Letshwiti (Maclean) camp, switched to the opposing camp commonly known as Friends of Football, led by Tebogo Sebego.

He stood for the position of the second vice president against Masego Nchingane and Solomon Ramochotlhwane. Nchingane beat both Sesinyi and Ramochotlhwane and retained the seat, which he had served under in the previous four years.

The former Zebras midfielder and captain was then moved to fill the gap left by Marshlow Motlogelwa who resigned from his position as the association’s first vice president (VP1) early this year. After replacing Motlogelwa as the VP1, the position of the VP2 was left vacant.

This past weekend, the BFA announced that the NEC, at its meeting held on Saturday passed a resolution to appoint Sesinyi as the VP2. “Mr Sesinyi brings in a wealth of experience from his various football engagements notably as director of Double Action Football Club. He has also previously served as an NEC member,” a statement from the association said.

Meanwhile, the association also announced the appointment of Carol Kgafela as new head of marketing, commercial and communications. The position fell vacant after the departure of Tumo Mpatane last month. “Ms. Kgafela is a well known and respected Communications and Marketing personality with traceable record from Hotwire PRC to Orange Botswana and recently with CEDA. Ms. Kgafela is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Media and Communications with the University of Botswana.

She also holds a Bachelor of Media Studies from the University of Botswana. She also possesses a Certificate in Marketing Management from Stellenbosch University and a Certificate in Digital Marketing from the University of Cape Town,” a statement from the association says.
