Ndlovu joined the second tier side at the beginning of last season on a one-year contract with an extension option.

He, however, disclosed to Monitor Sport that he has not received his monthly salary for two months towards the end of the previous season, and that prompted him to seek for greener pastures. Ndlovu also said he was offered a contract extension by Callies, which he rejected due to the outstanding balance the club owes. The midfielder said he is owed R90,000 (approximately P70,000).

“For now I am a free agent, the club was good. I was enjoying my football there to be honest. The problem came when I stayed for two months without getting paid. So when my contract expired in June I was supposed to extend the contract, so I could not commit to a new deal while I am still owed. I was not sure if I would get paid in the future after I agreed to extend the contract.

It seems like the team was struggling financially and that’s why I rejected the new offer,” Ndlovu said. ‘Zim Dollar’ as he is affectionately called was a key member in the Callies team. He played 19 games of which 16 were starts and scored one goal while he had two assists across all competitions with Callies as the team finished 12th in the 16-team league.

Ndlovu, however, said he has had promising talks with Callies to the effect that he will get his dues by end of this month. The 26-year-old also said he had trials with yet another South African second tier side, Black Leopards.

However the team’s offer was not enticing. “We have talked with the club’ we agreed about the outstanding payment. They have promised to pay my money by end of August. For now I am just home. I trained with Leopards for a week back and they offered me a contract. But their offer was too low, even lower than what how some of the clubs here (locally) pay so I rejected their offer too.

So now I am just home and looking for a team,” he said. Ndlovu has played for amongst others, Galaxy, Orapa United, BDF XI and Sharps Shooting Stars (now Molepolole City Stars) locally.
