The Fight Night was facilitated by Scud Missile Promotions. Bagwasi won the vacant title after defeating Tanzanian opponent, Said Chino through a split decision. He thus becomes the first ever World boxing champion from Botswana.

The three officials scored Bagwasi 120 points while his opponents scored 107 points. Bagwasi was a class act on the night and showcased his ring ownership. Chino was not able to bring out the aggression that he is known for as he found himself flat footed. Bagwasi said the win is the biggest achievement of his career.

“This win means a lot to me. It shows growth in my career. I expected him to be aggressive but he was not, which made the fight easy for me,” he said. Bagwasi will have his first title defence this December. He now has nine wins and one loss. Meanwhile, defending WBF Super bantam champion, Moabi Ngaka settled for a draw against South African, Selena Maduna. The eight rounds battle was the main supporting bout. Ngaka had to go through a vigorous weight loss programme ahead of the fight. He dropped from 75kg to 56kg.

Ngaka told Sport Monitor that when the fight started, he was afraid to charge because he felt weak. “I was afraid to charge because I felt weak due to weight loss. I had to shed a lot of weight so that I qualify to fight,” he said. Still at the event, there were other bouts that saw some amateur boxers making professional boxing debut. Mmusi Tswiigi had a brilliant professional boxing debut picking a win from South Africa's Simphiwe Ntombela. Tswiigi clinched the win through unanimous decision.

The two were battling it off in six rounds welterweight division. Another debutant, Tebogo Rennei had a good day in the ring pulling a win against Moseki Maiketso in the superlight category. Lentswe Zwinila traded leather for a win against Kagiso Ntoti who was making his professional boxing debut. The two clashed in the four rounds middleweight challenge. A losing streak continued for Tshepang ‘Gearbox’ Babui as he lost through a split decision against Tefo Letshokgwane. Another local boxer, Boifang Kenaope settled for a draw against Cedrick Chauke of South Africa. Chauke was also a debutant.
