BOMU targets 300 submissions in registration tour

Total Music Group, the organisers of the BOMU Awards have announced that as part of their plan to get more artists to enter for the event, they would embark on a countrywide tour starting October 4.
According to Total Music Group managing director and event coordinator, Seabelo Modibe the tour started today in Gaborone, Maun, and Gantsi. It will then proceed to Francistown and Serowe on October 5 before moving to Palapye and Mahalapye on the 6th and 7th respectively.
The registration tour will end in Gaborone on October 10, which is also the deadline day for submission for the 2022 BOMU awards. Modibe said the tour is the first of its kind since the inception of the awards 11 years ago.
“The plan is to cover as many artists as possible across from far-flung areas. The plan this year is to have many entries, newcomers, and everyone else. Currently, we are sitting at around 140, so we believe after the tour we will get as many entries as possible,” said Modibe.
Seabelo explained that the registration tour came against the backdrop of several complaints from artists who said they did not understand the submission requirements and process.
He recently said during the launch of the awards that they expect to have the highest number of entrants for this year's awards judging by the interest from the artists.
The 11th edition of the BOMU Awards will be held on December 3 at Boipuso Hall in Gaborone.
