The upcoming solo exhibition will take place from November 1-12 at the Alliance Française Gaborone.

The exhibition organiser and curator, Keoagile Bonang of Ground Works said while Ngoni had displayed close to 200 artworks during the previous exhibition, art enthusiasts will this time around get a peep into his fresh ones during the Painting Myself show.

Ngoni, who is a self-taught artist, has held several solo exhibitions throughout his career. Bonang explained that the theme for the upcoming event was extracted from the Living with the Brush book. “The Theme was extracted from Living with the Brush book.

It will be a solo exhibition and we will be exhibiting new works only. Not the ones we exhibited at the Brush Night,” said Bonang. Bonang also said their aim is to promote public art and ensure that artists deliver to the local market. “As Wilson stated during the Live interview during the previous event, we are encouraging artists to support locals before locals can support artists.

We are doing that by making sure that we take art works to our people and make sure we convince them to appreciate our crafts,” he added. During the previous exhibition, Ngoni showed that he is multi-talented, which include song composing, writing and singing with a few recorded songs under his belt. Bonang stated that Ngoni’s legendary status must be celebrated and appreciated in many ways. About this exhibition, Ngoni says: “I paint in search for direction in my life.

I paint to unveil myself and let my ideas be seen on canvas.” He added: “I am just producing new works for this show, so (it’s) new paintings all the way. I am painting myself; I am painting my current ideas.” The official opening of the upcoming solo exhibition will be held on November 1 from 6pm. Entrance to the exhibition is free.
