Motsepe who is the BFL operations manager, will take temporary charge as the search for a substantive officer begins in earnest. “Motsepe, as the next senior person after the CEO will be asked to act while the hunt for the permanent replacement is on,” the source said.
The Botswana Football Association (BFA) reportedly rejected the name proposed by the BFL last night. The BFL had turned to the BFA to second one of their employees to take temporary charge at the league organ. Instead, the BFL was advised to advertise the post immediately.
Meanwhile, there is no joy for football thirsty fans who will have to endure a further week without action as the BFL has postponed the start of the season to October 29. “The BFL Board of Directors convened on the 19th day of October 2022 and resolved that the scheduled 2022/2023 league be postponed to the 29th of October 2022.
The postponement is occasioned by numerous factors and the Board took this decision in order to allow all factors to be in place for a successful and properly constituted league,” a press statement from the BFL reads.
Further, the BFL said the Board has adopted the new season’s fixtures will be circulated to all stakeholders by tomorrow.
