During the handover ceremony, Botash managing director, Kangangwani Phatshwane said the bus will be used by the team when travelling for games.
He said the bus is very comfortable and projects a very professional image for the team.
“The team has made a lot of history in a short space of time during its participation in the Botswana Premier League (BPL). We look forward to celebrating the win of the league in this region,” said an optimistic Phatshwane. Sua Flamingoes president, Sabelo Matikiti was over the moon when appreciating the gift on behalf of the team and its management. He echoed the same sentiments as Phatshwane that the bus will project the right image for the team.
Matikiti indicated that the bus will be helpful as they will use it to travel around the country representing Sowa Town, the whole region and Botash. He made a promise that they will be committed and make sure to deliver in the new season. “We recently met with the coach and chairman to discuss focus areas for this season. Our targets are so much aligned with some of the demands issued,” he said.
He said that they will be able to take care of the bus the same way they have been looking after the facilities offered by the salt producer. Matikiti also stated that their players are already projecting the right image with their level of cleanliness. “I have never seen them take their muddy soccer boots on the bus, therefore we will keep it clean and maintain its quality all the time,“ he added.
For his part, team captain Tendai Nyumasi also expressed gratitude to Botash for the kind gesture of giving them the bus. He promised that they are going to deliver and make everyone in the region happy.
