The ‘Reds’ won the top of the table clash 2-0. They are the only side that is yet to drop points this season, after three rounds and occupy the summit of the league.

GU were very solid in all departments and the Ostriches could not find a solution to their high pressing game. Orapa were also starved of possession for larger parts of the first half but did improve in the second stanza.

“We created so many opportunities.

The pleasing thing is that we won 2-0. We can’t complain. Three wins in row and scoring six goals is an indication that we are a strong side. We are okay honestly. I don’t think there is any department that is lacking,” a confident Moloi said after the match. He added: “I think the performance today was of a team that wants to dominate. We always play to win.

We want to dominate every season. We will go again this season and fight for everything that is on offer. We have the credentials to do so.” Orapa interim coach, Gadimang Tiiso bemoaned that they lost the match on account of individual errors. “In the first goal we had an advantage of the ball but there was miscommunication between the keeper and the defender.

The defender could have cleared the ball. In the second goal, the defender could have cleared the ball instead of going for a tackle which resulted in a penalty. We will bounce back. This is our first loss.” Tiiso did not want to dwell much on the continued absence of forward Mbatshi Elias. There are reports that Elias is injured but has gone AWOL, a development that might significantly delay his rehabilitation. “The only thing that I know is that he got injured in the national team. He has not reported to training so there is nothing much I can say,” Tiiso said.

Thatayaone Kgamanyane scored GU’s first goal in the 18th minute after capitalising on miscommunication between Mooketsi Hlabano and Lesenya Malapela. He clinically looped the ball over an advancing Malapela. Onkabetse Mankgantai extended GU’s lead from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute. That was after defender Thabang Mosige was adjudged to have brought down Kgamanyane inside the goal area.
