Limpopo Garden Camp is located in Shashe Mooke village along the Shashe River. In an interview with Arts & Culture, the owner of Limpopo Garden Camp, Kiannah Kiersted said she was given the place by her parents Lionah and Harold Kiersted who help her manage the place.
The 22-year-old young woman also said the family-oriented fun adventure place features a water park with tippy buckets, which is an interactive above ground feature that creates excitement and anticipation while waiting for the buckets to fill and spill.
Other structures of the family adventure area include a large swimming 1.4m in-depth pool and water slides designed for outdoor recreational purposes, she said. Kiannah said: “We also offer camping, hosting services for weddings and parties.
We also offer river games such as volleyball and soccer, river sight-seeing, trampolines, bungee jumping and a zip-line that runs across the river.” She said her parents came up with the idea of a family adventure park after they realised that there was no family fun adventure place in Francistown and surrounding areas.
Kiannah indicated that families had no place to visit with their children to have fun during weekends and on school holidays. “The place is catered for the whole family to come together, have fun at very affordable prices. We have a garden with a beautiful lawn where parents get to set up picnics while children are having the time of their lives in the swimming pool or enjoying the water slides and tippy buckets,” she added.
Kiannah also said that families can also enjoy the camp site and a walk along the flowing Shashe River during the day. She said the area is fully licensed by the Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO). The 22-year-old said they continue to support local artists who perform during the weekends.
For instance, on October 29, the Mojolo Wame hit maker Vee Mampeezy thrilled the attendees during the family fun day event. Kiannah stated that they have over the past months received good reviews about the place from families who came all the way from Palapye, Nata, Masunga and Letlhakane. “In future we are planning on expanding the area by including quad bikes and building more accommodation like chalets for families, ”she added. Harold told this publication that they have built Limpopo Garden and Camp for their lovely daughter Kiannah to secure her future as much as to bring fun for families. “Parents should share their legacy whilst they are alive.
Children should not wait for their parents to die so that they get their share of inheritance. When given their share whilst they are alive, parents have a chance to teach them how to monitor or even invest their share of money,” he added. It is known that some children, not most of them, waste their inheritance money after their parents have passed away and be left with nothing.
