Three to contest for BOKA presidency

According to information reaching Mmegi Sport, people who are likely to contest for the position of president are Mpho Bakwadi (current interim president), Karabo Samuel (former vice president-technical) and Sam Dire (former vice president-administration). The race for the hot seat is expected to be interesting as the Association remains divided. However, the entire executive committee will be put in place during the OGM, after the previous leadership was kicked out through a motion of no confidence.
BOKA secretary general, Othusitse Dick, said the OGM was to be held early January but was pushed to January 21, 2023, because of the Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) Special General Assembly. “We have issued a final notice to the Federations inviting them to the OGM. We expect each affiliate to send two delegates and hombu dojos will also send representation. Financial report will be presented, because that is a thorny issue that has dragged for long and our members are not happy about it. BOKA spends government money and it should be accounted for,” he said.
