Nare tells star to play ‘business football’

Last week Saturday against Broadhurst United (BU) in a First Division South encounter at the SSG Grounds, Bokhutlo entered the pitch as a second-half substitute and immediately set the scene alight.
His pace and directness caused headaches for the Broadhurst defense, with the score still on a knife’s edge at 2-1. Bokhutlo put Nare’s charges on the ascendancy as he forced Broadhurst players to backpedal and stay deep. He kept coming at the defense at speed and used his trickery effectively.
Nare wants to see more of the directness from Bokhutlo. There has been criticism of unnecessary and unproductive flair, particularly in the African game, and Bokhutlo can be classified under that category.
Nare wants to see the player perform a few tricks to be more productive. 'He's blessed with natural ball skills... very good technical ability. He needs to blend that with a business football mind and discipline, and reduce too much showboating. Otherwise (it was a) solid display from him,” Nare said. Bokhutlo left the game with an assist after a brilliant run from deep.
He eliminated several Broadhurst players with a burst of pace and dribbles before rolling a defense-splitting pass on to the path of Tebogelo Malebogo who had the easiest task of guiding the ball past the BU goalkeeper in the 64th minute. Although he operated in fits and starts, he was productive enough on the day to help Chiefs seal a crucial win which narrowed the gap at the top to just two points.
This week, the riveting title race enters the halfway stage as Chiefs play third-placed high-riding Matebele at the Riverplate Grounds on Sunday. Leaders CrackiT City Polar will not want to surrender their slim advantage when they host Matebejana after slipping against Black Rangers.
In other matches, Rangers visit Tlokweng United, Notwane welcome Black Forest, while Young Stars are home to Santos this evening. Struggling Broadhurst face VTM in another Sunday encounter.
