City Polar, Notwane headline busy weekend

The defeat also resulted in CRACKiT City Polar losing their position to Notwane at the summit of the league table. It even gets more interesting this weekend when the two sides meet at the SSG ground tomorrow in one of the most anticipated encounters in the lower division. The top of the table clash is scheduled to start at 4pm with both sides having accumulated 26 points. Interestingly, the hosts, Notwane are full of confidence after their 4-0 win over Matebejana in which Remmington Masuku scored a hatrick. City Polar on the other hand are wounded after Tlokweng United handed them a shock defeat, which was their first of the season.
Both sides are under the tutelage of young local gaffers with former Uniao Flamengo Santos defender, Thabo Mothibi leading the Ramonaka-based side. Thaloba ‘Machine’ Nthaga has also been given the tough but also interesting role of bringing Notwane back to the Premier League. With City Polar having only lost once, Notwane have tasted defeat three times but the former have been hard done by draws (five) which resulted in them throwing away 10 points. A second successive loss could trigger panic buttons on the side of City Polar who are making their maiden First Division appearance. A win will, however, ensure that they return to the summit with eight matches remaining. Another Kgatleng side, Matebele FC lost a chance to go top when they lost 1-0 to VTM FC but have the chance to redeem themselves when they host Santos on Sunday.
Only a point separates Matebele and the log leaders but a win against Santos will not be easy considering the latter’s recent form. Santos recently defeated Mochudi Centre Chiefs before they registered another victory this past weekend against Broadhurst United. Despite struggling early on in the season, Santos are now not far-off the championship bracket with only five points separating them from the log leaders. Chiefs welcome Black Rangers at Riverplate ground without head coach, Daniel Nare who has reportedly been suspended after the loss to Black Forest last weekend. Nare has been under pressure from some supporters after a string of disappointing results. He was recently escorted off the pitch when his side lost to Santos but the team bounced back to winning ways when they knocked out Premier League side, Holy Ghost in the Orange FA Cup. Against Rangers, Magosi will be under the guidance of assistant coach, Patrick ‘Barnes’ Molefe.
