Junior golf team targets top five finish

BGU president, Modiri Phuthego said they are targeting top five finish from the 15 countries that have confirmed participation. He said the trip was made possible by the support from the Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) through buying flight tickets and travelling kit. The competition will be played in stroke play over 72 holes for the four days.
The top three nations will book a slot at the Toyota World Junior World Cup to be staged in Japan. Countries that have confirmed participation at the All Africa Junior Team Championships which also serves as a World Junior Golf Cup qualifier are; Botswana, Cote d’Ivoire, Egypt, Gabon, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Uganda.
South Africa is the defending champions for both boys and girls. Botswana will be represented by: Boys: Bigboy Molefe, Lone Masalila, Gontebanye Mhotsha and Thomo Mokgatle. Girls: Khensani Mhotsha and Kaone Mokgatle.
