The group spokesperson, Bakang Mphele said with the new music, they have returned to their old Mbaqanga beat. He said they had previously changed tune and adopted a different style hence why it took time for them to release another song. 'We kind of changed our craft and had shifted a bit from our original touch that we are known about. So we had to take time and plan for the comeback as we decided to go back to the line of our Mbaqanga music,' he revealed.

With the song Ma 74, the music trio was taped and followed the social trend. Mphele explained that they also offer advice to the young generation through the new song. “The new song titled Ma 74 is all about the comparisons between the new and the old generation and we chose Ma 74 as the title of the song because it is a social trend to the youth in the social media platforms more especially Facebook,” Mphele said.

The song portrays people born in the 70’s as a generation which is attractive, vibey and are likeable with the younger generation always trying to associate with them. But Makau Music advises the younger generation to be vigilant of the trend. “It has turned out that today’s generation, the young boys and girls, are attracted to old people when it comes to love affairs but here in the song we say to the young ones especially the girl-child to refrain from dating older men. The young generation always put themselves in so many great risks, for instance, look at the number of HIV infections in Gaborone, teenage pregnancy and so forth,” he said.

Mphele said the song offers solace to the youth who are faced with problems such as unemployment. “Unemployment has hit hard to the point where most of the young girls are attracted to their elders who have already achieved something in their lives but this song will inspire them to refrain from that and not be taken advantage of,” he elaborated. It has been a week now since the song was released and Mphele feels that the song is doing relatively well. 'So far the reception of the song is overwhelming, people are really excited about our original style, the feel of Mpaqanga style,' he said. Mphele said their plan is to keep on releasing more music.
