The Phendula hit maker was lured to the neighbouring country by Master KG earlier in February in a move that DJ KSB feels would elevate his career in music. In an interview with Arts & Culture, DJ KSB whose real names are Kealeboga Sedumedi, he revealed that he released Dwala lami at the right time in his life.
“I have dropped my first single Dwala lami with Wanitwa Mos Entertainment and I am really excited to have dropped this single, more importantly because I have dropped it on my birthday week,” DJ KSB said.
The delighted DJ KSB also said working on the song was really a gigantic experience to him and his career. “The song is a collaboration with two artists from the stable; Lowsheen and Charlotte Lyf.
Working with these two talented artists was really great,” he said. Explaining the song and the name, DJ KSB said it is mostly about bringing people closer to God. “Dwala lami can be explained as my saviour/my rock/ my protector and in this song we are referring to the Lord since we trust and believe in him and we always pray to him. So the song is basically saying when you trust and believe in God, pray to him, he will make it happen ‘Kuyenzeka’ like the song says in the chorus,” explained DJ KSB. Though the song has a ‘Gospel’ touch, it has appealing Amapiano sound.
The single is currently doing relatively well standing at 23,295 streams on Spotify, which is more than Phendula. Meanwhile, DJ KSB stated that he is about to release his second single under the stable. “I have had no Botswana coverage for some time now but soon I will be releasing another single with Han C. Fans should be on the lookout because I have great plans in store FOR the remaining part of the year.
The single is one of the hottest songs building up to my EP which I am busy with in the studio,” he asserted.
