According to a press statement released this evening, the BFA said it commissioned a committee to among others, ‘investigate the nature of the audio clip being a recorded conversation between BFA’s general manager Mr Monnakgotla Mojaki and Mr Joshua Bondo. The press statement further states that the committee was to also investigate whether there are grounds to conclude that Mojaki , who was slapped with a suspension following the leaked audio, has breached his condition of service and to “advise whether Mr Mojaki’s conduct constitutes misconduct and if so, whether he should be referred to a disciplinary enquiry.”

In the widely circulating clip, there is a discussion between the about bribing a referee to influence the outcome of a certain match. A certain Zakhem is mentioned in the four-minute-long audio. Bondo appears to repel advances to influence the outcome of a Premier League match as Mojaki pleads with him to meet up with 'Zakhem'. However, Bondo indicates that he is not interested in meeting with Zakhem “as he has destroyed our football.'
