The event kick-starts tomorrow and ends on Sunday. The 1000 Desert race returns this weekend in Jwaneng after years of absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The last race was held in 2019 in Selebi-Phikwe. As it is the norm, the event never falls short of unlimited range of entertainment segments including music festivals and camping, which normally come with braai sessions and bonfires. Dladleng Amusement Park has since revealed the names of artists who are set to entertain guests at their campsite located just 400 metres away from Jwaneng’s main traffic circle. Resident DJ, Da Coloi will be joined by Mdu Tha Party as well as South African-based Botswana artist, DJ Ngwazi.

They also revealed that they have partnered with Dee’s Nail Bar who will offer massage and pedicure services at the camp site. Facilities at the camp site include fixed braai/picnic areas, Terrace bar and restaurant at P250 per person per night. However, the fee does not include tent provision. DJ Ngwazi has also been lined up to perform at the People’s Festival billed to take place at Jwaneng Town Council Stadium tomorrow.

The festival, organised by Gilbert promotions will also feature some of the best local live performers including Khoisan, Gouvea, Chef Gustos and DJ La Puto. Rhumba star Franco and his band, Afro Musica who usually gets the lion’s share of time in the early mornings at local festivals, is once again expected to warm up the show with his dance moves and live band. The ‘Ke lela le lona’ hit maker has proven many times to be the fans’ favourite. Tickets for the show are selling at P100.
