The event was held at the Gaborone International Convection Centre (GICC) this past Friday and despite the chilly weather, the handful supporters of the two main acts could not hide their excitement when their favourite artists jumped on stage.

For Zonke, whilst she came 45 minutes late to her set , she gave her all. Rocking her trademark short hair, clad in an all-blue attire Zonke dished out her greatest hits, most times going back in time to perform songs from her debut album.

Perhaps the highlight of her performance and her last song after an hour-long performance came with ‘feelings’. The crowd which sang along to her every lyric asked for an encore.

After warming up the stage, Dj Cleo known for his more up beat set hopped on stage. The DJ opened his set with a remix of the Botswana national anthem. The blue black and white flag was projected on the screens, throwing the crowd into a frenzy.

The ‘eskhaleni’ hitmaker went further to mix local songs before he simmered into mixing south African songs. Despite his impressive start to his set, Dj Cleo who has not performed on home soil in close to a decade did not live up his standards.

Dj Cleo’s performance was less than impressive or a man with over 30 years’ experience on the decks. The locals Deejays however gave star performances.
