Shots fired in Sehithwa, one dead another injured

The Sehithwa Police Station Commander, Nshaki Mabophiwa revealed to Mmegi Online that the small village is still trying to come to terms with what has happened as he affirmed the two tragedies.
“Yes it is true that Sehithwa village has recorded these two cases; one involves a man who works at Wildlife Department and the other one being an old man aged 77 years,” Mabophiwa said.
Disclosing details, Mabophiwa stated that they received a report at around 8:30am on June 30 to rush to the Wildlife offices. “When we got to the office at around half past eight in the morning we found a man who works at the Wildlife Department in a pool of blood,” said Mabophiwa. When trying to ascertain what really transpired through their investigations, Mabophiwa revealed that the man went to work like on any other day.
“During our investigations, it was reported to us that the deceased just walked into the office and found his colleague inside the office. He then picked up a 375 rifle and went into a storeroom and shot himself there and it was a fatal shot,” he revealed. Though it seems that the deceased committed suicide, the police boss said they are still trying to establish if it is indeed the case as there is no suicide note.
In the incident involving a 77-year-old man, Mabophiwa said that the old man shot himself on his left arm while he was looking for his livestock. “We recorded another case yesterday when an old man went to look for his cattle and on his way there he found a branch of lebbeck tree on his way. He then tried to remove it but as he was busy removing it, his 12-gauge pistol gun went off and hit him on his left arm,” he indicated.
Mabophiwa explained that the old man mishandled the gun hence the accident. The Station Commander implored people to always exercise caution when dealing with guns to avoid cases where they inflict harm on themselves.
