Popa will take on the South African giants at the National Stadium as part of both teams’ pre-season preparations. The cheapest ticket will cost P50, while the most expensive is pegged at P500, which is higher than an average league match ticket.

Tickets for league matches cost between P30 for the rest of the ground, while covered stands are prized at P60. For the Rollers-Chiefs friendly game, the North and South stands tickets are selling at P50, Panda stands at P80, P200 for the Grand stands while a VIP seat costs P500. Rollers, however, said the tie is more than just a football game.

To spice up the day's activities, the Blues have arranged three curtain-raiser games. Social clubs, Swagger Boys and Media SC will play at 10am, and Rollers Legends will face PV Monko at noon while the main event kicks off at 3pm. Rollers also promised music entertainment during intervals with Culture Spears, Skavenja, Skupu, DJ Fondo Fire, and MC Theo as part of the initial line-up. “As the main part of modern football, clubs around the world come with initiatives to bring fans to the stadium.

For us with this line-up and the football activities on the day, we believe that we did not price the ticket low but we are giving the fans the match for free. So if you lose this opportunity you will not have it again. (As a fan) you will be enjoying all these activities in a package prized this low,” Rollers’ chairman, Bafana Pheto said. Pheto was speaking during a press briefing held on Wednesday at the club offices in Gaborone. He also announced that from Wednesday until Monday, the Panda North and South stands tickets will be sold for P30 for the early birds. The match tickets are on sale at Rollers offices and Prestige Funeral Group in Fairgrounds Mall. The club will also have a stall at the Gantsi Show from July 24-29. Chiefs will fly to Gaborone on July 28 and the two teams will hold a joint press briefing.

The South African side is expected to bring a full first-team squad. Meanwhile, the club has announced another international friendly match against Namibian champions, African Stars. The two teams will play at the Maun Sports Complex on August 5. Rollers have said the venue choice was influenced by the team’s move to take the game to the fans in the north. African Stars are preparing for the 2023-2024 CAF Champions League and match tickets are selling at P30 all around.
