Masilomangwe for three Zikomo Africa Awards

The runaway model was nominated under the categories of Best Star Fashion Model of the Year 2023 Africa, Best Star Model of the Year 2023 Africa and Best Star Young Achiever of the Year 2023 Africa. Masilomangwe, who is also an entrepreneur has a Degree in Banking and Finance and is one of the country’s top models.

She told Arts & Culture that she received an invitation from the CEO of the Zikomo Africa Awards to partake in the awards.

“I feel grateful and excited to have been nominated for these awards and I am definitely going to attend the grand finale. I am taking my makeup artist with me to the grand finale. I hope to win the awards and meet new people. My advise to upcoming artists is for them to always aim higher and never give up,” said Masilomangwe.

Having started her modeling Journey in 2017, Masilomangwe said she has attained experience over the years by working with renowned brands such as Jan Malan during the Masa Fashion Show. “I have also made appearances for several magazines and newspapers such as The Guardian, The Monitor, The Voice and Kutlwano,” she said. She added that she has also made appearances at events like Fashion Without Borders and African Women Designers Fashion Week (AWDFW) in Mozambique.

She said she faced challenges during the COVID-19 era when the industry struggled for two years. She, however, said that did not stop her as in 2022 she worked with African Fashion International (AFI), which is one of the biggest agencies in South Africa.

She also participated in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Summit. “I am always looking forward to the future with higher anticipation for more of the same and always ready to stand in and shine,” she added.

Ouddar also said they were proud to have performers like DJ Hlo, AKA Lioness, and Tapzee, who were all incredibly talented and would provide unforgettable performances.

The long-awaited Shining Stars Africa Awards 2023 Gala will be hosted on September 2, 2023 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The gala event will take place at the Cotton Lounge. The red carpet event will be open from 2pm to 3:30pm followed by the award ceremony from 4pm to 9:30pm.
