I'm the right man for Notwane job - Setswe

Setswe has been given the responsibility to lead the team next season as Toronto eye a return to the elite league. He spent last season as an assistant coach to Thaloba Nthaga, who has now joined Masitaoka. The former assistant coach now has the chance to ameliorate his coaching career. He said being the head coach for Notwane will be a mammoth task for him as he takes over from Nthaga who is more experienced. “When you take over at Notwane, there are a lot of expectations in terms of the results because I am coaching a big club. I am asking for support from the management and the fans. I also believe that I can really help the club to be better than it was and be competitive,” he said. He said the opportunity could not have come at the right time as he recently bagged his CAF A coaching license and feels he is the right man for Notwane. “This is the right time to coach Notwane and perfect opportunity for my career,” he said with a smile.
“I am full of confidence, trust and believe in our players because if you look at the entire team we still have the core of the team and the only changes are the foreigners that left us to Mochudi Centre Chiefs. This team is made up of players that I worked with last season,” coach Setswe stated.
He highlighted that despite the exodus of players, his team looks promising after they clinched the Diski Dlala Festival, defeating Extension Gunners by a solitary goal in the final. “I’m trying to build a good team on top of what we had but I can really say things are promising even though we started this week. We played like we have been training,” he revealed. Going into the 2023/24 season’s targets, Setswe echoed that his eyes are set on only one target, which is to finish in position one and earn themselves promotion.
