The project will see the construction of futsal courts, volleyball courts, and ablution blocks at the school. This is part of BNSC's quest to promote sport development across the country by ensuring facilities reach athletes wherever they are, the commission said. Despite the absence of school sports for some time now, BNSC CEO, Tuelo Serufho appreciated the enormous work that teachers and other sports stakeholders put up for the benefit of sports. 'School sports play a critical role in the development of sports in Botswana. As such parents and guardians should support the passion that the youngsters have. These facilities should be used for the benefit of the Radisele community. As the community and school, it is in your hands to take good care of the facilities as they are beneficial. Also, entrepreneurs in Radisele should put out a hand,' said Serufho during a groundbreaking ceremony to launch the project yesterday.
He further pointed out that his wish is to witness Radisele bringing out talent that will reach greater heights. The school head, Uyapo Samuel said the groundbreaking ceremony was historical as the project was the first of its kind in Radisele. 'Despite the challenges that the school faces, the BNSC plays a vital role and supports the school's sports body. This is history in the making. Our dream is to provide quality sportspersons to feed the national teams. Sport instils discipline, therefore this will be a benefit to the community,' Samuel said. She added that the project will enable developments in the school through eye-catching facilities. The project is set to be completed by January.
