The event will be held at Molapo Showcase from 4pm until 9pm. This week, Mpho Sebina said in an interview with Arts & Culture that she and Samantha Mogwe just have one duty: to cherish one another and support one another in their individual musical endeavours.
“A Sisters Medley’ is a joint show by me and Samantha because we want to celebrate each other in our career path which is music, come together and showcase our talents to the people,” she said.
The Toro hitmaker stated that her working with other women should not come as a surprise as she has worked with many women before including Samantha Mogwe. “Samantha and I collaborated on a song titled Marang on her EP titled 7 so working with her is really good,” Mpho Sebina said. She indicated that the idea to host the event came after their collaboration as they thought it would be a great idea to extend their collaboration to a live music event where they get to share the stage.
Furthermore, she echoed that she would like her collaborations turn into sisterhood and reach pinnacle points in their musical careers together. The celebrated songstress stated that its all systems go for the show. “We have been rehearsing for weeks and we are more than ready to share what we have been working on and we are ready to host,” she proudly said.
The elegant Mpho Sebina emphasised that people should not expect anything less but expect to have the best time of their lives on the day as she vouched to deliver scintillating performances. It will not only be Mpho Sebina and Samantha Mogwe who will be performing on the day, as patrons will also be treated to performances from other talents such as Khoisan, Sandi Ncube, Sebaga on Sax, Wynton on drums and Mike on keys. Despite recently bagging two awards nominations, Mpho Sebina still feels she is not yet done as she wants to achieve more before 2023 ends.
“This year I have not put out a body of work in some time and I am excited that I will be releasing new music that I have been working on over the past few years and close of the year,” she highlighted. Tickets for the event are sold at P250 early birds, P300 normal ticket, P550 double ticket. They can be found at Spar outlets.
