Magaga misses as Mares assembly

Mares’ head coach, Gaolethoo ‘Ronaldo’ Nkutlwisang has assembled a 29-member team for the WAFCON first round of the qualifiers against Gabon. The uncapped Magaga would have hopedg for a shot in the team after an impressive season in the Gaborone City Region Football Association (GCRFA) Division 1.
The forward finished second in the goal scoring charts with 14 goals in 12 games after Ontlametse Gaonyadiwe who managed 25 goals. Nkutlwisang maintained trust in the core of the 2022 WAFCON squad. Mamelodi Sundowns’ duo of Sedilame Bosija and Refilwe Tholakele are in the squad alongside Keitumetse Dithebe and Lone Gaofetoge of Gaborone United (GU). Mares Under-20 captain, Desiree Kenyaditswe has made the squad alongside forward, Jessica Maponga. Among the news faces in the team are Messia Radinonyane and Dimpho Samatoto, both from Orapa All Stars.
The Mares will be away in the first leg on September 22 at the Stade Augustin de Sibang in Libreville. The home tie will be played on September 26 at the Lobatse Sports Complex. The Mares will look to return to the WAFCON finals after making their debut in the 2022 edition.
