Botswana is bidding to host the 2027 tournament and the CAF committee will vote through a secret ballot to decide the winners. Botswana's own Maclean Letshwiti is in the CAF executive committee and is expected to cast his vote in favour of his native country. CAF president, Patrice Motsepe has close relations with Botswana and could also vote for South Africa's neighbour. Other than representatives from Malawi, Comoros, Seychelles and Democratic Republic of Congo, the committee has members predominantly from West and North Africa.
