He will headline the event, which is set to be held tomorrow (Saturday) at the Raby Farms in Serowe. Up until this year, Ntate Stunna, born Thaabe Letsie, had not set foot in Botswana.
However, he has since become a regular feature in the local performance stages after his music gained traction across the Southern African region. In an interview with Arts & Culture this week, Lesego ‘Snag’ Ditoro, who is the event co-organiser, explained that Ntate Stunna has established himself as one of the most sought-after artists in the country with every event promoter seeking to work with him.
Ditoro stated that because they have Ntate Stunna as the headliner, they would not bring any other international acts in the line-up. “The line-up is complete for now; we really have a hot artist in the line-up and for that, no more additions will be made. We are only counting hours to the event,” he said. Although Ntate Stunna is the main attraction for the event, people can expect performances from local artists such as DJ KSB of the trending song ‘Thokoza’. Other local acts on the line-up are the trio of FME’s DJ’s, Lerofo, BJB and many others.
With many events set to be held on Independence Day across the country, Ditoro expressed confidence that ‘Home Sweet Home’ will stand out among the rest. “The name of the event itself stands out, there is no place like home and people are going back home in numbers to celebrate independence,” Ditoro said. He further said ‘Home Sweet Home’ presents a perfect platform for families and friends to come out together and spend the holidays. On the preparations for the event, the co-organiser stated that they had had a few hiccups along the way but they managed to overcome them. “It is always hectic and demanding to prepare for an event but we are on the ground doing everything we can to make the event a success. Our aim is to make Season 2 big and better,” he said. Ditoro said everything is ready for the event.
“Everything is ready for ‘Home Sweet Home’ Season 2. We are only left with things like sound checks, which are done on the day. So we are just waiting for Saturday,’ he stated.
Meanwhile, he said ticket sales have been smooth and they could not complain about the purchases made thus far. However, he implored those who have not bought their tickets to do so. Tickets for the event sell for P100 early bird, P250 double, and P150 standard.
